Hello Tuesday

Hello Tuesday….

I bought some Chinese lanterns at the weekend, but I don’t have the light to make a really beautiful picture yet. I am hoping they last until Friday, my day off and the chance of daylight when I am home. Even so they are very pretty. I put some pictures together at different blend modes and added a new halloween brush and a French Kiss texture.

I liked this too

This has a Distressed Jewel texture and a halloween brush

Photo Art Friday

Photo Art Friday

This week Bonnie’s challenge was to create a piece of photo art about something ‘derelict’.
I didn’t have any wonderful buildings, old or otherwise or abandoned vehicles in my library and no daylight hours to find any so I had an idea to ‘throw’ this old boat into a waterfall! It felt good, I like it. What do you think? Does it say derelict to you?
Guess what my camera and I will be looking at this weekend? Yes, buildings, vehicles, perhaps some farm machinery…

Our PAF virtual gallery is full to the rafters with some fabulous versions of derelict this week, if you have a moment, call in for a browse?

I hope you all have good, calm & peaceful weekends. x

Almost Wordless Wednesday

We had a break in the very wet weather we have been having lately. It was long enough for the window cleaner to call. I was thrilled, so was he; wet weather = no work.
My window cleaner is a friendly chap, talks to the dog, keeps the gate closed and this time he cleaned the inside of the windows as well.

Everyone in our house was happy.
Me; I could see through the glass.
Husband; I would stop nagging him to get the ladder out and clean them for me.
Son; he wouldn’t have to stand at the bottom of the ladder for his dad.
Dog; she had an extra fuss that day.

And then we had visitors of the gull kind.

They must have been sitting up on next doors roof, watching him brush and scrub ’till they were shining. Waiting ’till they heard his “Cheerio ’till next time”. I bet he wasn’t even in his van!

Thanks for the sunshine you sent, it arrived Tuesday morning and lasted most of the day.

Monday Colour

We have heavy rain here this morning after such a lovely bright, dry and warm (ish) weekend and a beautiful pink sunset last night.
I changed the blind in our bedroom to our winter red yesterday, the room was so deliciously dark and cosy when my alarm went off this morning, I love it! It keeps a dreary grey day at bay for a little while longer.

I took lots of photos of the trees in their beautiful autumn colours at the weekend…from the car (passenger side!) on the motorway! It is such a fun thing to do, it is hit & miss what you capture of course but you can play with the smudge tool in photoshop and magically disappear a very ugly supermarket building.

I am linking to Mandarin Orange Monday for the first time today.

If you have any sunshine to spare could I have a little?
