We had a break in the very wet weather we have been having lately. It was long enough for the window cleaner to call. I was thrilled, so was he; wet weather = no work.
My window cleaner is a friendly chap, talks to the dog, keeps the gate closed and this time he cleaned the inside of the windows as well.
Everyone in our house was happy.
Me; I could see through the glass.
Husband; I would stop nagging him to get the ladder out and clean them for me.
Son; he wouldn’t have to stand at the bottom of the ladder for his dad.
Dog; she had an extra fuss that day.
And then we had visitors of the gull kind.
They must have been sitting up on next doors roof, watching him brush and scrub ’till they were shining. Waiting ’till they heard his “Cheerio ’till next time”. I bet he wasn’t even in his van!
Thanks for the sunshine you sent, it arrived Tuesday morning and lasted most of the day.
Your window now has a painterly effect. That gull knew what he was about! Gorgeous photograph.
Arrrgh! Don’t think it needs much more in words than that; apart, perhaps, from Eeek!
Oh no!! I think they do lie in wait, don’t they? Is it the shininess of the freshly-cleaned windows (or, in our case, car) that attracts them?!
Aw! Round here the window cleaner has a habit of arriving the minute the rain comes on..
Goodness! We’ve only had professional window washers once or twice, but it sure was lovely.
I agree that they lie in wait….glad the sunshine stayed for the day!
