Today My Day Looks Like This

I liked this post on Rinda’s blog, Her Monday Musings used this list of headings:

Outside My Window
I am thinking
I am thankful for
From the kitchen
I am wearing
I am hoping
I am reading
I am busy creating
I am hearing (and watching)
Around the house and garden.
It reminded me that last year I completed my book of Currents which I found here
It is so good to look back on. I’d like to start it or something similar again.

My Day 10th September 2012 looks like this:

Outside My Window: Bright sunshine, white fluffy clouds, deliciously warm and it’s only 10.30am
I am hearing: the sparrows in the ivy outside my window
I am watching: the trees swaying gently in the breeze and a butterfly drifting by
I am thinking: about my sister-in-law, her daughter is getting married this week,
I am thankful: for some time to myself
I am learning: to use the video setting on my camera and having some amusingly bad results.
I am busy creating: My Learn Something New Everyday Project with Shimelle
A few plans: A hospital day on Thursday and providing all goes well ‘The’ wedding on Friday
A quote for today: “The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are” Joseph Campbell
In the garden: secateurs, shears, hedge trimmer and chain saw! All saw the light of day yesterday and we saw the light flood into our jungle
In the Kitchen: Chilled Gazpacho soup and Caesar salad can make a daily appearance as far as I’m concerned.

My day has ten items! that means I can link to Shimelles meme Ten on the Tenth.
“Result!” as my boy would exclaim.

And a picture. I made this for a lovely lady called Mary who sent me a really beautiful e-mail last week.

My Month in Numbers

I am joining in with Julie Kirks Month in Numbers meme again.
I took her advice and collected the numbers as the month progressed, but then forgot about it until today!

Here is my month of August….in numbers

Hmmm, sorry it’s a bit difficult to read, it looks great printed! Click on the picture, it will open in a new window & you will be able to see what my month in numbers looks like.
Or I could copy it here?
Ok then….
17 nights glued to the TV watching the Olympics
204 countries competing
2 embarrassing to admit the number I had never heard of!
65 the number of Medals team GB won
2 the number of train journeys I took this month
3 the number of nights I spent away from home
16 the number of pounds I spent in the chemist on antihistamine medication
……because I forgot to bring mine with me.
1 the number of trains I was on when we were held up because of trouble further up the line
194 photos taken this month
15 ATC’s made this month not including bases (I’ll be ‘fessin up with photo’s soon Alexa)
9 days my boy was travelling on his motorbike
69 the number of times he tweeted me
3 the number of times I tweeted him. Well it’s all a bit new to me.
1 the number of photo books I made for my brothers birthday
300 the number I noticed on a wrench left in the garden

Confessions and Obsessions

Rinda asked if we had a ’latest obsession’
Oh dear, I feel a confession coming on.

I am holding two thoughts in my head.
• I can be ever so slightly obsessive about some things
• The way I learn best is by constant repetition

Take Photoshop for instance.
I avoided learning about it for years and then one day it happened and I have been obsessed with it ever since. On the other hand I use it every day and the repetitious process makes learning new techniques easy for me.

Today’s Confession then.
I saw some images for Mandala’s and thought they looked very beautiful.
Then I was send a link about Fractals.
The two things reminded me of the Kaleidoscopes we had when we were children.
I found a tutorial about making Kaleidoscopes in Photoshop.
And then this happened;
Over a few days I made 30 of them!

Here are a few of my favourites.

You noticed I said Today’s Confession? Yes there are more.
