Photo Heart Connection

Kat Sloma hosts a wonderful practice each month called Photo Heart Connection.

Deepen the connection between your photos and your heart and soul by participating in this monthly review of your images, to find the one that best connects to your heart.

This photo makes me smile every time I see it. It was a lovely day, cold but bright, we sat outside in the high street in town so that I could take some pictures for a new project.
I knew he was taking the picture, I knew that my hair was blowing all over the place, I knew that I had cream on my lips from the very large, very delicious cup of hot chocolate.
And I didn’t mind. I just smiled and wondered if I might be able to use the picture some time this month.
This wonderful hobby has changed me.

This month we decorated my craft room. A major job because I have so much stuff. We took advantage of Ben being away and emptied my room into his unoccupied room. We painted the walls a kind of stone colour. (Dulux Timeless) the woodwork and ceiling are white. I have a new carpet, a kind of honey colour. My desk, bookcases and cupboards are also white. It feels so light and airy. The colour comes from all my stuff! I’ll take some pictures when it’s all done and ‘for one day only’, tidy!

And for Julies Comunal Count…

Creative Photography Lab

Assignment four in this book.
Take about 20 pictures with your eyes closed!

My friend and I were having coffee, she laughed the whole time and I didn’t mind because I had my eyes closed…

Creative photography. Lab 4

So, would I have taken any of these pictures if I had had my eyes open?
Probably not although the exercise made me think about various places I could go to take the photos and having decided that it was far too cold to be outside today, I found some courage from somewhere and asked the staff in the coffee shop if it was OK, and then I got my camera out of my bag and did it.
If I could do this again I would stand up and take more time over it.

So another step forward and a little bit braver.

I haven’t done Labs two and three, but I will.

I wonder if my friend Jill braved the freezing Winnipeg temperatures to do this weeks exercise?

Week Five

Zooming In and Out among the weeds in my garden

ZIZO week 4 Cyclamen

And on my way back, clinging to the damp stepping stones I notice fungi!
Actually not so much clinging as welded as I tried to ‘tidy up’ and remove the larger stone towards the middle of the fungi!

Zoom In

I love fungi, the shapes and colours I get here are amazing.
These bracket fungi are here because there was a tree in the middle of this walkway which we had taken down some years ago. But now there is always plenty of fungi for me to photograph.
