Me In January
Due to reasons I can no longer remember I am posting this almost a week after I wrote it. Hey Ho, life happens 🙂
Me in January 2015
I can hardly believe that it is January 22nd today which is a remarkable statement from one who, in past years has struggled terribly with the January Blues.
On the first of January I feel like I am standing at the bottom of an extremely high mountain and can’t imagine ever getting to the halfway mark let alone the top. This is madness.
Who put the mountain there? Me
Who made me stand at the bottom? Me
Who makes me think I have to climb it? Me
Or climb anything? Me
This January I decided, or, made an intention that I will not even think about starting over. It’s that phrase isn’t it? ‘Starting over’ It doesn’t suit me.
January is just another month.
Yes it’s cold, but I have the heating on
And I have a new hat & coat for when I venture outside
Yes its wet but so are many months here in the UK
It might snow! Good, snow = photo opportunities
We have work I can think about a holiday
I am able to spend time on my Mac
Time with my blog and
I am probably the last person in the world to have learnt about Instagram.
My friend PrairieJill has been helping me get started and one or two folks have kindly pressed ‘follow’
I am off for a weekend away tomorrow. Just me, on a course to learn about Bookbinding. It was a Christmas gift from my lovely and ever thoughtful husband.
Me in January with a new haircut, more feathers and a positive outlook, Oh! and I’m trying to get up earlier!
I am ikibana_banana on instagram. Why? All the good names were gone.
Pairs Week Four
Open & Closed
My pair this week features a pine cone brought in tightly closed and put ontop of my fridge. (I have no idea why, except that I like pine cones) I photographed it because that’s what I do. I am pleased I did of course because a few days later in the warmth of my kitchen it had opened beautifully.
Pairs is Helenas meme for 2015

Hope you have a good weekend, I am going to learn about book binding! A Christmas gift from Paul.
Winter Photographic Scavenger Hunt
I have been collecting photos for the lovely Winter Scavenger Hunt that Eileen at In My Playroom & Joy at Daisy Row, are hosting. I have about half of the items and have some to share with you today.
The Harbour in Bristol. Practising intentional blur, or was it the wine Ben gave me?

This is my friend wearing her husbands knitted Christmas Hat complete with working lights! The battery for the lights wouldn’t stay in the hat with her hair up in a clip!! There was plenty of laughter at a quiz that night. We, ‘The Jingle Belles’, wearing Christmas hats and festive ‘sweaters’ came second!

SS Great Britain launched in 1843. In the harbour in Bristol. I was looking at the reflection of the water on the ship, when I saw the picture on my screen I saw the reflection of the ship in the water.

I was so surprised as I turned the corner of a small, very dark side street to see these lights! Oh! so festive, and actually, looking at them today has brought back nice memories of a lovely craft evening with the lady in the festive & very funny hat.
I was on the beach earlier in the week. I took some food to throw for the gulls (not generally a good idea and greatly frowned upon here but if you promise not to tell…) Anyway I asked Paul to throw the food & I took hundreds of some pictures.
I think I will go back (to photoshop) and write these notes onto the LO’s. I think they will add something. What do you think?
