Index Card A Day

Week 3

I am keeping up with Daisy Yellow’s prompts and am loving spending a little time each day playing with pencil & paper.

I was watching my son & his friends over the weekend faffing about with so much electronic equipment, ensuring this was charged, that had the latest update and don’t mention the various apps that had to be downloaded. I retreated quietly to my desk and got out some paper, paints and glue and had some time to myself smiling that I knew about pens, paper and crayons, a pencil sharpener and a rubber Hmmm now where are those scissors?…

Here are my days 15 – 21 in a slideshow again.

My beautiful dark plum (magenta with a tiny drop of grey) on the windows and doors looks black in the picture! and the grey looks blue! I’ll have to get the little houses outside for a proper photo shoot.

ICAD Week 2

It is week two of Daisy Yellow’s Index Card A Day challenge.

I have been inspired by Tammy’s prompts again. I love doing this project, it’s such fun to create on a small card every day. There are some amazing pieces of art linked to the ICAD flickr page.

I have made a slideshow of my cards for days 8 -14. They are all 6 x 4 plain cards or Gelli prints or I cut up some old manilla type folders I found during a clear out. In the spirit of the challenge, nothing fancy.
I do whatever pops into my mind when I read the prompt, the only theme I am doing is for the colour prompts. I want to use fabric.

Six Word Friday’s

I thought I would have to pass on this weeks word, I just couldn’t think of anything.
This morning at a little after 4:00am I was out in the garden with the dog, having a look out of the gate as it turned out (Good Dog!) I tried to take some pictures of the moon but I was too low down & the camera speed was too slow but I couldn’t think about doing much to alter anything, but it passed the time while the dog was enjoying her one and only hobby.
I have got some better shots from upstairs though but this one made me smile when I saw it on my screen at a more civilised hour.

Linking to Adrienne with Double, her word for this week.

The Summer of Colour

I am joining in with Kristin’s Summer of Colour. It hardly seems a year since I made bunting for SOC 2013. Summer of Colour runs for 6 weeks, it’s not too late to join in. Make anything in the colours Kristin chooses each week.

I have decided to make whimsical houses this year.

The first weeks colours are Aqua Blue, Yellow and a splash of Hot Pink

SOC 1

My lovely husband cut the wood for me although he wasn’t happy cutting the odd shaped roofs and asked me to be sure to let you know that it wasn’t his measuring, he just cut on my lines. I have painted the various shaped houses with gesso and pasted some torn book pages on to give a bit of texture. the colours are acrylic paint. This house has paper doors and windows. The butterfly was a button, I cut the shank off to stick it onto the roof. I really like the heart and flower instead of a chimney.

Summer of Colour week one

I can’t wait to see what everyone else has come up with. Already there are 50+ links up on Kristins blog.

Last years SOC bunting blowing in the breeze again this year.
