Last Monday actually because I got busy the rest of last week and wasn’t able to post. I don’t think Sian will mind? Do you?
It was a series of ‘firsts for me’ kind of weekend.
The quote that Deb at Paper Turtle used on her blog post on Friday 23rd is how I felt before I arrived
“Courage is the power of the mind to overcome fear.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
Away on my own, in a hotel, remembering to take my key, finding my way around, constantly arriving for meals, on time, arriving for class, on time, remembering door codes kind of weekend.
It was learning a new skill, trying to stay awake during the last session of the day (8.30 – 9.30pm!) kind of weekend.
A weekend with a bunch of lovely men & women keen to share their knowledge and love of whatever skills they had.
A cold but dry and bright weekend. A weekend with my camera.
It was an e-mail sharing kind of weekend.
A tea (in a china cup and saucer) and cake taken in the library kind of weekend.
Wonderful meals at regular intervals with the most taxing decision being, to choose what to eat.
I loved it, I loved being away on my own.
I missed my dog (and husband) but I loved being ‘just me’ I loved the course on bookbinding and the place we were staying and learning.
No picture of me but some pictures from the weekend.
This post and title is inspired by Sian from High in the Sky.
Thank you Sian.
It’s a beautiful location (not far from me) for a weekend of creativity.
sounds a lovely adventure and what a fabulous setting
What a fabulous setting for a workshop! Sounds like so much fun!
What a wonderful place to get-away, learn and rejuvenate! I would hate to leave!
I LOVE the marbled papers and would have definitely enjoyed this class. The location was an absolute bonus! Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely delighted to see any Monday at all 🙂
Though this isn’t just any old Monday, any old weekend! It looks very special and thoroughly enjoyable. A delight to read about
It looks and sounds like a lovely kind of weekend. I especially like the tea and cake in the library part!
Oh, Miriam!
You have described a magical weekend. You found strength and happy magic in yourself as well as the place and its wonders. I always thought bookbinding would be a very interesting career.
If you have a chance, pop over to my blog. I have a bit of an update on my health. Nothing horrible. Just an update.
Hugs across the Atlantic from m & jb
Tea and cake in a library, inside a stunning building like this? Bliss! Glad you enjoyed it so much. Looking enviously at your green grass. We have piles of muddied and ice-hard snow everywhere.
