It was raining and blowing a gale on the fifth, I didn’t get out for a walk until the seventh. Perhaps I could post seven in seven on the seventh? And then post it here on the eleventh, anyway…
I was looking for textures for an upcoming project in Steve Sondheim’s book, Creative Photography that I am working through with my friend Prairie Jill.
I am endlessly fascinated by the sea wall that runs along part of our coastal town.

love your lacy wall – there is an eroded sandstone wall near me but I never thought to photograph it like that – will do next time I walk that way
Your beautiful photos also work for ZIZO. I love all the texture of the different stone.
The more I scrolled down and looked at your photos, the more I wanted to run my hands along the length of that wall
The erosion patterns are so cool!
I love all of these textures, Miriam.
This is a wonderful series of photographs.
Happy day to you!
Oh dear, I’d better getting going on this!
Love these photographs, Miriam. The textures are fabulous. They’d be fun to play with as overlays, I think. My favourites are the fourth and sixth – I just love the shallow depth of field and the light. Gorgeous!
Wonderful photos, Miriam…the textures are amazing,

I can really see why! I wanted to develop a paper or fabric pattern as soon as I scrolled down through these great shots.
Oh I took so many photos in Lyme Regis of just that sort of weathering. Fascinating – wonderful photos and angles too.
fabulous textures
What wonderful textures!
Great photos Miriam, I love to see walls like these, you have captured some wonderful patterns.
I like the monochrome treatment you’ve given these images–I especially like the 4th and 6th images–it’s probably a depth of field thing.
