Winter Scavenger Hunt

From 1st December 2014 until 21st March 2015 I have really enjoyed collecting the 20 items on the Winter Scavenger Hunt list set by
Eileen at In My Playroom & Joy at Daisy Row
Well done you two for setting some great items to find.

I have managed to collect all twenty items and have put them in a slide show for you to have a look at.

Thanks again to Joy & Eileen for putting this fun challenge together, and thanks for looking at my finds.

Me on Monday

Waving to blog friends on a very overcast Monday.

It was a weekend full of treats and surprises, I felt thoroughly spoilt and loved and I am still smiling even after ‘the supermarket shop’.
It was a not getting up kind of Sunday and a going out for a special treat on Saturday kind of weekend.

A thinking about my mother and all my friends who are mothers kind of weekend.
A very dear lady with the same name as me passed away this weekend, so thoughts of her kind of weekend. My M-i-L has lived next to her for 50 years. That’s a long time to be neighbours…

A flower arranging kind of weekend, looking for vases, cutting and sealing stems and taking a few pictures kind of weekend.
A no cooking weekend and best of all a surprise visit from Ben.

My Saturday treat was a Fish and Chip supper aboard The Matthew in Bristol.

I made this collage with Collage It for Mac

The-Matthew-collage

The Matthew is a representation of the 15th Century caravel which took John Cabot with his crew of 18 from Bristol to Newfoundland in 1497. The Matthew was launched in 1996 during The Festival of the Sea in Bristol. We were there to see it with a very unhappy seven year old Ben…I had forgotten that until just this moment.

Me on Monday is Sian’s idea, thank you Sian.

Mothering Sunday

Earlier in the week husband & I each got an e-mail from Lotta, son’s girlfriend.

Hi, what are we doing for Mothers Day?

I was thinking:
Hmmm, your mother’s Mothering Sunday is in May. You could ask your boyfriend what he has planned for HIS mother’s Mothering Sunday treat.

This prompted Paul to organise something for his, No, not mother, but his wife!!

I received this from Paul

Dear all, (Ben, Lotta and Miriam)
About Mother’s day, I have booked a trip on The Mathew sailing on Saturday evening at 6.00 pm from Bristol for 2 hours. This includes Fish and Chips on board.

I hope you can all join me!

Guess what?
Yes of course they can, it’s another free meal isn’t it?

Still I’m sure this sort of conversation was/is happening all over the Uk this weekend.

If you are celebrating Mothering Sunday today, I hope you have a beautiful day.

Cherry-blossom-2

Cherry Blossom, something lovely at the dentist last week!

So That Was February

and we are already more than a week into March!

I think I survived February quite well. It was a short month and a very wet and cold month here, but no snow, just three hail storms in one day kind of a month.
February is my birthday month. When I was a child I remember thinking that the seven weeks between Christmas and my birthday was a lifetime! now of course the time flies by.
Then there’s Valentines day which we love to celebrate in our house. I had beautiful flowers and a card from my Valentine.
I loved taking part in Sian’s Pile of Postcards swap again. I hope all mine have been received by now.

February, A couple of meals out and an evening looking at birds, visiting an art installation, dinner with Ben & Lotta, and coffee’s with friends made my February lovely.

And now we are in March, the weather seems to be alternating between gorgeous sunshine & rain! That would be March then.
