December Days

Completed!
Once again I have loved doing this project. Apart from a few days of going with my own thoughts I followed along with Shimelles prompts this year. I used a different format this time too. A new shape, inspired by Rinda at Gallo Organico and no pictures apart from page 12.
I might add a couple of pages of photos at the end but to be honest I didn’t take very many pictures this year, I found trying to stay well zapped all my energy and creativity. I am sure the project won’t suffer!
Here’s a look at the finished book.

Photo Art Friday

Bonnie at Pixel Dust Photos gave us a gorgeous new texture last week and asked us to use it to make some digital art for the gallery this week.

I am taking a photo a day again and this year I am following Katrina Kenedys prompts which you can see here
Repetition was the prompt on day 3. I saw these lovely spires from the eight floor of the car park I was in and thought they would be perfect for Repetition but as usual I only had my phone on me. The results are so good, the spires were quite a distance away.

This is the original pictures from my phone

I put the texture over and at blend mode Lighten I saw this effect. I like the way it takes all the detail out just leaving the repeating shapes.

This is the version I would like to hang in the gallery this week though

As always there will be some beautiful art hanging on the virtual walls of the gallery here

Look Up Look Down

…with Helena
I am joining Helena with a weekly photo theme ‘Look up, Look Down’ each week throughout the year.
Here is my first offering. The wonderful blue through the bare branches of the tree couldn’t be resisted by me, it was a fabulous day here but looking down in my garden all I see is very heavy, wet, soil and the imprints of my dogs feet which by now are probably hopping, skipping and jumping all over my carpet…
On my screen I noticed the heart shaped leaves of the pretty little Celandine, maybe spring won’t be long coming.

Any signs of spring where you are?

Picturing the Precious

Pick your Precious

Thank you Sian for this sparkling new Story Telling Sunday project.
Sian, over at High in the Sky has once again come up with a brilliant new idea for Storing Telling Sunday, now in its third year.

Take a picture of something that is precious to you. It can be anything at all, precious for any reason or no reason and write a back story to go with it. Genius! as my darling boy often says whilst pressing his forehead with his index finger!

As I intend to make a book from these ‘precious photos and back stories’ I am starting my series with something that amuses me greatly.
And, as I haven’t done a layout of any description for ages here is the first from 2013. I keep writing/typing 2003, anyone else doing the same?

You should be able to click on the picture to make my journalling large enough to read.

I am sure, because Sian is hosting, there will be some wonderful back stories to some equally wonderful photo’s of Precious right here.
