Looking Up and Down around the docks in Portishead, Bristol
These lovely stones have words and quotes on them that form part of a riddle which tells the story of the docks at Portishead. I did visit the website but could make neither head nor tail of it! The stones are lovely with or without the riddle.
Part of the old Lock gate mechanism at low tide
I love how the vertical lines of the lock gate and the stones echo each other.
Thank you Helena, for this great practice of looking at things a little differently.
…because it’s a great way to see things differently.
We came home over the Clifton Suspension Bridge and this time I walked across! It was a bit drizzly so the light wasn’t brilliant but I made some great Up & Down pictures considering I don’t like heights! Oh and the bridge moves!!
I loved these tall (Corsican, I think) pines that are on the Leigh Woods side of the bridge and wondered, if I was looking up at the pines
Could I look down and find some cones?
I played with the dodge & burn tool rather than put a texture on the sky as it was so washed out, I rather like the result.
I also have a couple of contenders for Rindas Scavenger Hunt.

Thank you Helena who’s brilliant idea it is to Look Up and Down every week throughout 2013
