Texture Tuesday

kimklassencafe

Kim’s Challenge this week was to use her Autumn Burst Texture which is fabulous. We could interpret the verb ‘do’ as an either/or. Yes, of course I did both.
When I saw the prompt ‘do’ I thought “I do” so here’s a family picture to start

Thomas & Helena my grandparents on their Wedding Day April 1929

I was looking for a photo to try this new texture on and thought the light of the daisy and the dark of the texture would work, so I had a play. I like it. Then this song popped into my head. Oh, all day long it stayed with me.

I thought the texture would look nice on a building, this is actually the home that Helena was in for the last part of her life. It was/is very beautiful both inside and out. As was Helena. x

There are some fabulous textured photo’s over here this week.

Texture Tuesday

Orange is Kim’s challenge for Texture Tuesday this week, her textures are all so beautiful and playing with photoshop is just such fun!
Here are my pictures for this week.

Wallflowers remind me of my grandmother, they grew all along the wall underneath her sitting room window. They say autumn to me.

I really love the colours in this rose.

I have a glass top table, I wanted to take some pictures from underneath it. Husband & I had such fun, this is one of the less messy pictures.

This is my favourite, this morning has a very autumnal feel about it. We put the heating on for a little while last evening!

I have just realised I used some darker textures this week, is it really the start of autumn here?

There are some fabulous orange textures over here this week if you have a moment, take a look.

Texture Tuesday 23rd August

Kim Klassen’s Texture Tuesday

Last weeks theme was Movie Titles.
This is The Beach (Leonardo DiCaprio). Actually it is my local beach, Sand Bay and the closest our beaches have been to a celebrity is Keira Knightly at Clevedon! Hey ho. I didn’t see this film, I was taken in by bad reviews! Have you seen it? What did you think of it? I have been playing in photoshop and tried something different with textures.

The Beach

My Beach has Kim Klassen’s sepia scratched and plaster 2 textures on and one called Blue Sky but I’m not sure who’s texture that is…sorry. If you know, let me know?

This weeks texture Tuesday challenge is Back to School using two different textures!

Measure

Measure has Bent Edges and Aurora textures on.

Sharpen

Sharpen has Abstract and February Magic textures on.

Write

Write has Brushed Linen and Canvas Grunge textures on.

Colour

Colour has Just Stitched texture and 123 Overlay on.

There are wonderful interpretations of Back to School here this week.

The Number Three Edition

kimklassencafe

This week Kim Klassen has challenged us to work with the number three…and one of her lovely textures of course.
I had lots of fun with this as I remembered a long time ago I did a project called ‘Looking for three’ It might have been with Shimelle, I can’t remember. Apart from number 3 that I made with the wheat husks that were laying all over my floor because the wind blew everything off the window sil!! the pictures were taken at Bristol Zoo in July 2010.

This has the original layer set to screen mode and then a layer of Bent Edges texture set at normal with the opacity set to 50%.

Tapir has Apple Butter Texture set at soft light.

The penguins have Not Too Shabby texture, not quite to the edges to leave a frame, and set to soft light.

The bees have Canvasback texture set at soft light.

More fabulous texture work and interpretations of Three are here.

Ooops! My lizards nearly got away!

Perhaps they didn’t like Kim’s magic texture on them!
