I have been playing with photoshop. 🙂

1. Filters/distort / wave is great fun

2. Filters /distort/twirl; I can’t choose between them !

3. Actions are brilliant. I know, I am possibly the last person to discover this

4. Photo to Oil Painting is wonderful, especial pictures of food!

5. Photo to Black & White sketch

6. And then colour the sketch using the colour from your photo
7. I can follow a tutorial!

I am a great nest builder, this little project gave huge amusement to the family. It is Pepsi’s greenhouse nest. When I am in the garden she likes to be in the greenhouse where she can see me !

Dublin An evening in town

Inspired by Amy. Scrapping the everyday


Thursday night we headed into town to the Brazen Head, Dublin’s oldest pub dating back to 1198. We had the most wonderful evening. There was a local band playing traditional Irish music, we had Irish stew to eat and Guinness to drink, what more could you need than chatting, singing, drinking, eating, did I mention drinking? laughing, drinking. Oh and we musn’t forget the couple from Tipperary! They were dairy farmers up from the country to the big city for the weekend. They had a new grandchild, she told me a wonderful story about feeding the hungry city baby on porridge! It certainly was a long way from Tipperary…..

A Cow and a Ladder

Has the woman gone mad? Very possibly after the day I’ve had. When I got home I need to chill, the ice cream helped but Kim Klassen’s Thursday challenge did the trick.
She gave us a picture of a cow to download and a challenge to add some of her textures. I used one of Kim’s newer textures called ‘The ladder’
I also used one of her templates.

Feeling relaxed now…..I have tomorrow off & lunch with a friend planned. I hope your weekend is good.

Dublin 2011 A day in the Mountains

I had a few days in Dublin with two of my brothers. I have made them a book each of the pictures we took and wrote some captions on some of the pictures which I hope will make them smile. I am waiting for the books to arrive in the post!
I made two LO’s inspired by Amy

On Thursday we headed into the Wicklow mountains, somewhere I remember from childhood holidays with mum & dad. The day started with very fine drizzle, the sort that makes your hair curly! As we climbed higher into he mountains we ascended up into the clouds! We drove for so many miles and passed no-one, It was just what we needed. No screaming’s kids for Alan, no phone and no paperwork for me and no gas for Martin. Had we arrived in heaven?
We stopped at the first sight of a Lough and got out of the car to breathe in the peaty perfume that filled the air. A perfect place, just as I had remembered and not appreciated at all when I was a girl. I made up for it today.
