Days of Summer, looking for Water.

Crazy Days of Summer this week are looking for water. I drove along the sea front after work this evening and took this picture of our beach looking so calm today.

The sun was shining on the water making it almost blue. Our town is on the Severn Estuary so frequently the sea looks kind of brownish! Today the sunshine, blue sky and fluffy white clouds gave me a real lift at the end of a busy day.

Hop over here to see if we all managed to find water!

Project 64

project64 button

Project 64 is looking for Olive Green this week. I thought this was a difficult colour to find, so many greens around but just not the right shade.
I was almost giving up when I noticed this little stook of wheat on my shelf collecting dust, I thought the stalks were just perfect.
This is such a great project for opening my eyes to what’s around me.

I put it on a book on my windowsill when I had finished the photos and the book was such a good match too!

Have a look over here for lovely olive green shots this week.

Texture Tuesday

kimklassencafe

Kim Klassen, over at her cafe challenged us to use a photo with people and one of her textures this week for her Texture Tuesday Challenge.
I thought you might like to see some family photos?

This is a photograph of the original picture which is in my files.
The picture layer is set to soft light. It has 2 layers of Kim’s texture Break Free both set at soft light, the first layer is softly brushed over and the second layer more heavily brushed to remove text on the texture from the people.
L to R This is my great Uncle, my great grandfather and my grandfather at my parents wedding.

This is also a photograph of the original picture which is in my files. The picture layer is set to soft light then 1 layer of Kim’s Simple Things texture, set to soft light, then the layer is softly brushed over to remove the texture from the people.
It is my fathers sister on the left, we are still in touch although not as often as I would like, and my mothers sister on the right, I am going to visit her in Dublin in July. I can’t wait to see her. It has been seven years since we were all together.

I’ll post the Bride and Groom next week and some of the wedding party the week after, How’s that?
Please hop over to Kim’s for some fabulous faces with textures

Scavenger Hunt Sunday 19th June

This weeks Scavenger Hunt Sunday prompts:

Emotion
From a Flower’s Point of View
Natural Frame
Letters
Bliss

I loved this weeks prompts! they needed a bit of thinking about rather than looking for which is so good for me.
Here are my interpretations.

Emotion
Happiness

And best of all was that I heard it too. I added an overlay to distract the blur because I was laughing so much and they were moving!

From a Flower’s mushroom’s Point of View

These little chaps suddenly appeared one morning this week and the following day they were gone!

Natural Frame

I had a lot of fun wit this one but this was my favourite.
We went for a flight in a Hot Air Balloon. I took this from inside the basket looking through the foot holes.

Letters
This was the first thing that jumped into my mind when I read the prompt, St Paul’s Letters to the Corinthians, but I couldn’t find that phrase written down.

I had my box of craft letters out but they weren’t appealing and then I thought of handwritten letters but they are stashed away somewhere ‘safe’. I continued my search until I found these lurking on the shelves.
.

Bliss

The perfume of my Philadelphus is just pure Bliss to me.
