I have some more finds to show you.
I am having trouble finding a sign that is anywhere near as funny as the one about the cat’s eyes. I have three, I will have to make a decision at some point….
How are you doing with the list?
It is the first Sunday in July and time for Sian’s wonderful monthly meme. If you have any idea where June went, please let me know.
Here is my page for July.
I got this scruffy box down from the top shelf in my workroom. I brushed off the dust, made myself and the dog sneeze and sat with it on my knee for such a long time this afternoon.
I haven’t seen the contents for so long. I kind of knew what was in there though.
I wondered if there was some thing that I might be able to write a story about for Sian’s Story Telling Sunday.
Inside the box, I found:
• Lots of small treasures from the children that I used to mind many years ago. Their little faces came into my mind and made me smile
• A few bits that I can’t throw out, but I’ve run out of shelf space
• Some post cards from places we have been
• Some cards that have made me smile
• A religious figure that I don’t want but can’t throw away. It was mums and I remember it sitting on her sideboard forever
• Some school things, programmes, a spelling list
• Letters, lots of letters
The ‘thing’ that I found, was handwriting.
On a card or a letter or a picture
Handwriting feels so precious to me. When I read some of the writing I could hear that persons voice and yet I can’t hear it if I just think about them.
There are letters and cards and pictures from my aunt, from Paul, from Ben, from my friend.
I’ve felt sadness and happiness looking through the things in the box.
…So many memories.
I put everything back, except the dust, that will return soon enough and put the box back on the top shelf in my workroom and then opened word and a new document…
I am looking forward to reading everyones stories later today, after the tennis! It’s the mens Wimbledon final… Go Andy! what does that mean? I fear I am no longer ‘down with the kids” What does that mean?
My M-i-L thinks they should shorten the match today because it is far too hot for ‘those boys’ How do you think that would go down?
Keep cool if you’re hot, and warm if your cold. Have a lovely Sunday.
Thank you Sian
This weeks colour choice is Charcoal Grey and Pale Pink.
This seems like a sophisticated colour combination to me which would explain why I don’t have any of these colours in my stash! In the vintage fabric stash the pale pink is teamed with brown…I’m sure I remember that in the 60’s?
I have been wanting to play with my felting things for ages so this might be the perfect project.
I have a very lovely charcoal grey cashmere sweater piece of felt just asking to have some pink flowers or something felted to it.
Bunting felted with scraps of fabric, silk and ribbons

This is the reverse side which I love

I felted some sari silk onto the cuff of the cashmere… a ribbed piece of felt added some glass beads and attached it to some card.
Index A Day Card.

I had a photo of a pink poppy and wondered if I could turn it into something Pink & Grey for the challenge. I was just giving up when I remembered I had some pictures of a venetian blind. I had a play.
This is the kind of thing I was hoping for
I was making my picture for CY365 for the 1st of July when one particular blending mode revealed this! I love it and doesn’t it look like the reverse of the felted bunting triangle?
I love how things come together sometimes don’t you?
I am having so much fun with this challenge. Far from cure me of my obsession with ATC’s I think I am now totally addicted.
I have my days 19 – 30 to share with you today.
My scanner has been playing up for a few days, apologies, some of the pictures are not as good as I would like them to be
Half way through the challenge and still so many thoughts and ideas to try and for July I am going to follow some of Tammy’s prompts.
Gallery 11 at Project 52 is Red or White or Blue or two of them or all three.
So much choice! and as I have just upgraded my collage maker I went for all three in a collage.
This lovely banner by The Cutest Blog on the Block keeps disappearing from my blog post today. Apologies.
