I have my days 13 – 27 July to share with you.
I was thinking about different ways to colour my backgrounds. Water colours, spray inks and pastels.
I have made fabric pages for a journal recently. I thought a little bit of it would make a great ICAD. I had some made in Britain tape from Abi and noticed that the apples I had in the dish had little flags on, then, as is the way I saw another flag. I made the envelope, it has a letter inside. I had fun remembering writing these acronyms on envelopes, Oh so long ago…
I love needle felting. The flowers were painted by my friend. I stitched and added beads. I feel as if the card has come alive rather than just stashed away somewhere unseen. Handmade paper and threads on my desk collaged under my sewing machine needle.
Silk Kimono has been on my desk for a few days waiting for the right background. Amaretti biscuit wrapper was the answer. Making and sewing, a dress form and vintage pattern paper. A Gelli print and a multi layered stitched heart
I had been watching the blackbird bathing in the bird bath. I like these Cotton legged birds with their bead or shell feet.
This is the last week of this challenge. Wednesday will see the last of 61 days of making a little piece of art every day. I have seen some really beautiful art and ‘met’ some lovely artists but best of all I have grown in confidence ‘making art’. Thank you Tammy and every one who visited and looked at my cards.
What’s next then?
I love all the bits, pieces and doodads you’ve added. But if I was just picking one, it would have to be that cute dress form with a pattern used to accent it. Each card has its own little inspiration.
What fun it is to look through all these! My faves??? The Memories of Pauline, the Gelli print with heart, and the bird on the wire!
Hi Miriam! It’s been a pleasure having a good old browse through the wonderful selection of posts you have been working on while I’ve been away. The gorgeous colours have been taking my breath away. And I’m smiling at the sky full of popcorn. Those are my kind of clouds!
What a delight to follow the ICAD crumbs trail here to your blog Miriam. Your cards are absolutely wonderful and so varied. That fabric paper is so clever, and the felted flowers precious, and those birds just make me laugh with delight.
What a visual feast you give us here, Miriam! I have falled for the bird on a wire, the stitched paper and thread and am dying to know the acronyms – these ones are not familiar to me. Do you remember YTTDSFOATCCSH?
PS That should be fallen :(.
Once again, a wonderful variety!! Each time I looked at one, it became my favourite. Until I looked at the next one!! If I had to pick, I think I’d go with the July 25th bird – love those long legs! I also really love the dress form, and the needle felting.
Hard to believe this challenge is nearly over, isn’t it? I’ve enjoyed it so much – both making my cards, and seeing what other participants have done. Are you going to do Tammy’s August daily prompts? I’m not sure if I will – we’ll see!
another fabulous array and using such a wonderful range of techniques. I’ve really enjoyed seeing all your cards
