Confessions and Obsessions

Rinda asked if we had a ’latest obsession’
Oh dear, I feel a confession coming on.

I am holding two thoughts in my head.
• I can be ever so slightly obsessive about some things
• The way I learn best is by constant repetition

Take Photoshop for instance.
I avoided learning about it for years and then one day it happened and I have been obsessed with it ever since. On the other hand I use it every day and the repetitious process makes learning new techniques easy for me.

Today’s Confession then.
I saw some images for Mandala’s and thought they looked very beautiful.
Then I was send a link about Fractals.
The two things reminded me of the Kaleidoscopes we had when we were children.
I found a tutorial about making Kaleidoscopes in Photoshop.
And then this happened;
Over a few days I made 30 of them!

Here are a few of my favourites.

You noticed I said Today’s Confession? Yes there are more.

  1. LOL! – Thirty of them! That’s fantastic.
These are really cool – I especially like the second and the fifth one. The green beans one makes me a little nervous for some reason.

  2. Wow! 30?! I hadn’t known anything about fractals until once we had a run on books about them in the library. Obviously they are a fine subject for an obsession!

  3. These are absolutely amazing! As soon as I see something like this, I think I must learn how to do that. But the reality is I have over 1,000 photos to cull through, delete, and edit from our trip to say nothing of the fall start-up of all the groups with whom I volunteer. So I guess I will just oooh and aaah over your beautiful work! (It’s good to catch up with you.)
