May 2014
I am doing great with my postcard posting. Its week 22 and I’ve posted 44 cards
I’m sad to say that they don’t always arrive. I think I might have to start putting them in envelopes.
The most exciting thing about May though was going to London for the weekend. I am not good at travelling and not good at being away, and get worse as I get older! Anyway, Ben had bought tickets for himself & husband to see Seasick Steve at the Albert Hall on the Friday evening.
Lotta & I spent the evening wandering about playing with our cameras, having fun, having dinner and generally enjoying ourselves until the boys got back from their concert. The rest of the weekend was just plain lovely. There was sunshine and showers all weekend. We travelled on a bus, a boat and lots of taxi’s, breakfast, lunch and dinner out and not a washing up brush in sight…Just Perfect.
June will have a lot to live up to.

Thank you Julie

  1. Postcards do tend to go astray in the mail. Was just thinking about getting the toesies painted. Going to a wedding in a few weeks. Will probably get turquoise-blue. I read about Paddington Bear’s adventures on the London Eye, but have never been to England myself. Will just have to take his word for it being fun -and yours. 🙂 🙂

  2. Another wonderful month! Your London adventure sounds great. (I’m like you, by the way – getting worse about travelling as I get older!). Also loved the line about all the handbags not bought!

  3. sounds like a great month
thanks for the interesting fact about the eye
would love to be only 138 miles from London
number of times I have said I love this meme and should try it- too many to count!

  4. Your trip sounds great – love the sound of you and Lotta having fun in the big city. What a nice way to pass the time. [Although I’ve got to wonder where the other 50% of the play went?]

You are the model of restraint in the handbag department. I seem to have bought a coat that I didn’t need this weekend when I only went shopping for body lotion! [Although, it is a waterproof coat… and the weather lately may suggest I *do* need it!]

Your month is safely pinned to the Month in Numbers board with the other number crunchers now Miriam: http://pinterest.com/notesonpaper/my-month-in-numbers/

Here’s to a bright and happy June to you and yours.

    Julie x

  5. Lovely photos of the London Eye. Before this post, I had no idea there was any such thing and certainly didn’t know it was a ferris wheel (had to step out for just a minute to google it). If your numbers are any indicator, you had a very busy and productive month!

  6. I’d say 17 years was a pretty good life for a gas cooker, though the one I inherited here was installed in the 1950’s and lasted until we had the kitchen redone 2 1/2 years ago. I don’t think it would have EVER died, and it was one of the main reasons we decided to do something about the kitchen in the first place! You’ve had a lovely month (once again), and your trip to London sounds wonderful.

  7. I’m impressed you knew how many years you’d had your cooker and 17 years sounds good. Now you’ve got me wondering how we’ve had the stove, it probably needs replacing soon I’m thinking.

  8. I should think you deserve that cooker after all those years – not to mention a clutch of handbags for having made it last so long! Hoping that June delivers as many nice things as May …
