…on the fifth. Isn’t that a strange word to say and spell?

The Weston Wheel is back. It has open carriages this year and it is smaller but I still said I wouldn’t get on it.
When we went to the supermarket yesterday I said to husband that I needed to go somewhere to take pictures for five minutes. He drove into town: “You could take pictures here in the rain or go on the wheel, at least the cars have a roof (of sorts)” he said helpfully. How could I refuse?
I was fine as long as I looked through the lens. The car was too open, too small and too high! But I liked what I saw through the lens and even though it was raining it was bright and clear. The ride lasted from 14:15 to 14:20 (from my first to last picture) so as that’s ten minutes, out of the 70 pictures I took I have ten pictures to show you.
It was a bit like being a tourist in my own town. We even had tea in the Victorian Tea Rooms, picture 4, right hand side.
Well done for going up in the wheel, Miriam, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t – even for such a great photo opportunity. Fabulous pictures. Rog and I went to W.S.M. about 18 months ago, it all seems so familiar from your photos, we sat on a bench by the stretch of grass to eat our lunch (pasties bought in a shop along the front, top right-hand corner of picture 7). I love the look of the sand structures inside the fenced off area on the beach, and we really enjoyed the aquarium in the white building. You’ll have to go something to better this collection next month 🙂

I love that ferris wheel, Miriam!
Happy Sunday to you.
Smashing snapshots, good for you for not being deterred by the rain.
lovely scenes of beach activity despite the rain – well done for braving the wheel
Oh, you’re brave! I wouldn’t have gone on the wheel. But it was worth it – you got some fabulous pictures. Hard to pick favourites, but I love the second one, and the second last one. I’d also love to go for a stroll along the beach with you!
Thank you so much for taking part this month Miriam, and how brave to go on the wheel for your photos when it is something you would normally avoid! I’m so glad you didn’t. I loved the view, especially the donkey’s on the beach, that’s not something I see much these days.
And your first two photos grabbed my attention – such detail and clarity!
I hope you enjoyed your afternoon tea. Thank you so much for sharing these photos, it was indeed like being a tourist in your town and I enjoyed the visit!
Fabulous photos! I am so afraid of heights that even looking through the lens wouldn’t help me.
I wouldn’t have gone on the wheel either! But you got some beautiful shots. There seems to be so much interesting activity where you live! I love the view of the big rock out to sea.
What strikes me most about these wonderful pictures is the amazing light. They look so fresh, just like the beach after a lot of rain
What super photos … and your beach looks so clean and fresh and ready for the spring and summer :). Makes me want to take my shoes off!
In my world, I would have been the one to suggest a Ferris wheel ride. DH would have, almost certainly, declined the opportunity. Instead, he would have volunteered to hold onto the miscellanea of our day (the occasional bag or parcel) as I took my solo trip. With any luck, he would have captured a broad shot whenever my car was at the peak of the ride.
