Week 3

I really, really, really wanted to get a picture of the robin for the Winter Scavenger Hunt.
I have a bid bath in the garden which is a great thing to bring the birds in but they don’t tend to take a long leisurely bath, more of a quick dive in, splash it all around a bit kind of bath.
I was lucky last week to be right there at the window and with my camera in my hand!

This week I went to the shops and bought some mealworms to put on the bird table with the ordinary bird seed. I think my seed is the value kind or the basics or even the blue & white stripes one because the robin is not visiting the table. The mealworms did the trick beautifully. Robin must have exceptionally good eyesight to pick them out on the table or on the ground.
So, I am a happy bunny today, The Winter Scavenger Hunt Item one done and a contribution to Helenas wonderful new meme Snap!

He has spotted something that I, with my non robin eye can’t see

Hooray! he has the mealworm in his beak!

The next picture sees the mealworm slipping down his throat but I thought that was a bit too graphic for a Wednesday morning.

Mealworms! worth every penny.

Week Two

Spying on the birds this week. I took the pictures through the window which is why they are a bit cloudy. When it stops raining for a whole day I’ll clean them.
I watched for ages and hoped I could get a set of pictures for Helelna’s Snap! I took so many and it has been fun flicking through them quickly on my computer to make them move as if watching a film. It reminded me of those little flick books we had or made as children where you flicked the corner to make someone run along or cycle and fall off the bike. Oh! my goodness where on earth in my poor ‘ole brain has this lot come from?

Thank you to Helena for this lovely new theme of Snap! There were some wonderful interpretations for the theme last week and some gave me some ideas for future Snaps!

My first submission for Helena’s brilliant new meme: Snap!

I am getting on well with the lovely Winter Scavenger Hunt set by Joy and Eileen and was wondering about the Robin for Item 1. I am sure it is a robin of the real, with feathers, sitting in the garden kind but I’ve been unlucky catching him so far. Then I saw a post on Helena’s blog and immediately thought Oh! Snap! completely forgetting about a robin for myself!

My set for week one is Christmas cards

but you have to make a visit here to see the other part of the set! I’m sure its not in the rules, but hey, when did I ever follow ‘the rules’ 😉

I was wondering if anyone else has one of these cards? We could make a big set?
