Sparkling Clean and Tidy

Yes, I agree it is a strange photo to take.
Today we had the first people to look at our house which is for sale.
We worked very hard, until the house was tidy and clean and parts of it were sparkling! Husband even vacuumed the leaves from the garden. I thought they looked beautiful and would have left them in all their glorious colours but I was on the inside, he was on the outside.
I wanted a photo of today but clear work tops, photo-less shelves and beautifully made beds would be pretty dull I thought. So my shiny tap and flowing purple water it is.

Simple Pleasure

I went for a walk in the park this afternoon. There were so many dogs and little children playing in the deep piles of dry leaves, they made a great rustling sound when they ran through them and then kicked them in the air, the children squealing with delight.
The light was fading for photo taking, I liked this one best.
Are the trees more beautiful this year? They seem that way to me.

Christmas in a Glass

Over on IACW throughout October they have been preparing for Christmas. I want to join in.
My craft stuff is mostly packed away, in an attempt to return my crafting space back into a bedroom, because the house is for sale.
I thought I would give my Christmas Day Cocktail a try in case I have gone off it this year. I was at my friends for supper tonight and made it for the girls.
You will be pleased to know that I haven’t gone off it (phew!) and they loved it! Christmas in a glass. Cheersxx

I was in Clevedon this evening and couldn’t resist a look at the beautiful pier. I know it has been photographed millions of times, but here is my pictures taken at 6pm this evening.
It won’t be the only picture taken at 6pm this evening because as I was getting back into my car with my little Kodak point & shoot, the guy getting into the car beside me had the most enormous lens & tripod!!!
Some things I didn’t know about the pier;
I didn’t know that the pier is the only fully intact, Grade 1 listed pier in the country.
I didn’t know that there are 58 piers around our coast line, here is a list, Ooohh how I love lists..
I did know that the Bristol Channel has the second highest tidal range in the world with ranges in excess of 15 metres.
The highest is in Canada. Two places are fighting over it so I just went with Canada.
And just because, for some reason it amused me, Clevedon pier is one of the finest surviving Victorian piers in the country and was designed to be both elegant and functional. It’s to do with thin legs/less water pressure Tell me about it!

Love this colour.

I love to wear this colour.
I love leaves too, love their shape. I love them when they are wet on the ground, when they are dry and swept into piles, the sound of dry leaves under my feet. I love the smell of leaves turning to mulch, love to watch them swirling about in the wind. I love to use leaves in fIower arrangements. I love the colours of autumn, strange, when you think that the beautiful colours are because the leaves are dying.
I held this red sycamore leaf up to my window to see the sun light it up.
Day 26, almost there.
