It is the first Sunday in July and time for Sian’s<\/a> wonderful monthly meme. If you have any idea where June went, please let me know.<\/p>\n

I got this scruffy box down from the top shelf in my workroom. I brushed off the dust, made myself and the dog sneeze and sat with it on my knee for such a long time this afternoon.
\nI haven\u2019t seen the contents for so long. I kind of knew what was in there though.
\nI wondered if there was some thing that I might be able to write a story about for Sian\u2019s Story Telling Sunday.
\nInside the box, I found:
\n\u2022\tLots of small treasures from the children that I used to mind many years ago. Their little faces came into my mind and made me smile
\n\u2022\tA few bits that I can\u2019t throw out, but I\u2019ve run out of shelf space
\n\u2022\tSome post cards from places we have been
\n\u2022\tSome cards that have made me smile
\n\u2022\tA religious figure that I don\u2019t want but can\u2019t throw away. It was mums and I remember it sitting on her sideboard forever
\n\u2022\tSome school things, programmes, a spelling list
\n\u2022\tLetters, lots of letters<\/p>\n

The \u2018thing\u2019 that I found, was handwriting.
\nOn a card or a letter or a picture
\nHandwriting feels so precious to me. When I read some of the writing I could hear that persons voice and yet I can\u2019t hear it if I just think about them.
\nThere are letters and cards and pictures from my aunt, from Paul, from Ben, from my friend.
\nI\u2019ve felt sadness and happiness looking through the things in the box.
\n\u2026So many memories.
\nI put everything back, except the dust, that will return soon enough and put the box back on the top shelf in my workroom and then opened word and a new document\u2026
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

I am looking forward to reading everyones stories later today, after the tennis! It’s the mens Wimbledon final… Go Andy! what does<\/em> that mean? I fear I am no longer ‘down with the kids” What does that<\/em> mean?<\/p>\n

My M-i-L thinks they should shorten the match today because it is far too hot for ‘those boys’ How do you think that would go down?<\/p>\n
