I know it has been photographed millions of times, but here is my pictures taken at 6pm this evening.<a href=\"http:\/\/miriamrogers.co.uk.1047soon2b.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/27th-clevedon-pier.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miriamrogers.co.uk.1047soon2b.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/27th-clevedon-pier.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"27th Clevedon pier\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1760\" srcset=\"https:\/\/miriamrogers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/27th-clevedon-pier.jpg 700w, https:\/\/miriamrogers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/27th-clevedon-pier-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nIt won&#8217;t be the only picture taken at 6pm this evening because as I was getting back into my car with my little Kodak point &amp; shoot, the guy getting into the car beside me had the most <em>enormous<\/em> lens &amp; tripod!!!<br \/>\nSome things I didn&#8217;t know about the pier;<br \/>\nI didn&#8217;t know that the pier is the only fully intact, Grade 1 listed pier in the country.<br \/>\nI didn&#8217;t know that there are 58 piers around our coast line, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.piers.org.uk\/\">here<\/a> is a list, Ooohh how I love lists..<br \/>\nI did know that the Bristol Channel has the second highest tidal range in the world with ranges in excess of 15 metres.<br \/>\nThe highest is in Canada. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pol.ac.uk\/home\/insight\/tidefaq.html\">Two places<\/a> are fighting over it so I just went with Canada.<br \/>\nAnd just because, for some reason it amused me, Clevedon pier is one of the finest surviving Victorian piers in the country and was designed to be both elegant and functional. It&#8217;s to do with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/bristol\/content\/articles\/2005\/06\/20\/pier_feature.shtml\">thin legs\/less water pressure<\/a> Tell me about it!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was in Clevedon this evening and couldn&#8217;t resist a look at the beautiful pier.
