My ZIZO is a bit different this week because I have a little story to go with my pictures. So, we were in London over the Bank Holiday weekend. On Saturday we went off to visit the Globe Theatre, something I had wanted to do for ages. It was raining so an inside visitor attraction was perfect. \nI\u2019m thinking of Cheri Andrews and her Kindness project<\/a> for this year.<\/p>\n
\nWe got there to find that there were no tours today because there was a performance on!
\nWe decided to come back tomorrow and off we went.
\nI was taking photographs of the outside of the building in complete awe. The buildings either side of the theatre are very modern or glass structures and then the wonderful white-beamed circle that is the Globe theatre, sits right in the middle of them.
\nPaul & I were chatting about returning tomorrow and maybe one day to see a play when I was tapped very gently on the shoulder. I turned around to see a very beautiful Japanese face almost entirely covered by the hood on her green waterproof coat. She was asking if we would like to see the play.
\nThinking the worst I said NO, thank you for asking but no. I turned to Paul. She tapped my shoulder again. “Please”, she said. “This is not a trick, there will be no charge. My friend and I have to go now, we have tickets for the play. The best seats in the house but we cannot stay. Would you like our tickets?”
\nShe looked so beautiful and was almost pleading us to take the tickets from her.
\nI said, \u201cyes of course, I don\u2019t understand but I would love to go into the theatre\u201d. She handed me her ticket, her friend handed her ticket to Paul.
\nAs I thanked her again and gave her a hug, she said, “hurry now, the second part is starting soon.”
\nWe hurried, up the steps and through the gates, the attendants looked at the tickets and said, “Over to your right, up the stairs”. We wiggled our way up and along very narrow walkways until we saw our block. Our seats were right in the front row, The girl was right, the best seats in the house!
\nAs the players came on stage the rain stopped and the sun began to shine. It was so bright and so hot we had to shield our eyes to see the performance.
\nIt was truly wonderful, to see the play, (the second half of Anthony and Cleopatra). To be in The Globe Theatre so unexpectedly was amazing! We loved it. We want to return.
\nThere are truly wonderful people in this world and I am honoured to have met two of them last Saturday.
\nThank you Cheri for your prompt last week about writing about some kindness that you come across other wise I wouldn\u2019t have told you about my adventure.
